Nic Cage Unsure Who Exactly Directed Him in ‘Bangkok Dangerous’

Posted on 05 September 2008

Nicolas Cage in 'Bangkok Dangerous'Pity poor Nicolas Cage. Not only does he have not one, but two directors in his latest film “Bangkok Dangerous,” but he can’t even tell them apart. And get this: We’re not even slightly kidding.

“They wouldn’t tell me who was who. They would take turns directing and alternate days. That was confusing because I’d think I was talking to one person when it turned out to be the other,” Cage laughed of the Pang brothers, Oxide and Danny, known for their horror classics like “The Eye.” “I can’t remember which is which but I think Danny was a little more relaxed than Oxide. That’s how I began to intuit which one I was being directed by.”

Thank goodness, then, he really, really liked the material.

“I responded to it because it corresponded with things going on with my own life. I’m not a hit man but I am a white guy who’s married into an Asian culture. There’s an enchantment to that as well as bewilderment to it at times,” Cage said of what attracted him to the action starrer that finds him as a professional assassin making his last four hits for a Thai crime boss.

“I was in the right state to put those feelings into ‘Bangkok Dangerous.’ I also think that in my own life and work I want to become more global. I want to take in international points of view.”

Here is a picture of the Pang Brothers…can YOU tell them apart? And are you looking forward to checking out “Bangkok Dangerous”? Sound off below.
